Welcome to the Heb Ken house, "that's the way it is and no other way" could be translated today.
Born in Brittany in the Bigouden region in the 15th century, this motto alone reflects the spirit of the house.
A true institution anchored in the Nantes landscape since 1976, the Heb Ken pancake house is above all a story of passion and heritage, that of a true artisanal and family know-how which for several generations has perpetuated the taste of the authentic to make you discover the inimitable flavour of buckwheat.
The Heb ken crêperie was voted best crêperie in Nantes in the 2008 Charles Monselet competition.

OUR GALETTES
Our cakes are made to order from artisanal buckwheat flour. With no fertilisers or pesticides, buckwheat is naturally organic and gluten-free. Rich in proteins and amino acids, its grain is highly nutritious. It is also excellent for your health as it is rich in fibre and antioxidants.
Don't hesitate to discover our gourmet cakes, our traditional cakes with or without mirror egg but also our special cakes,
made with fresh and local products.

Buckwheat arrived in Brittany and Normandy from the East in the 12th century and has remained deeply rooted in Breton gastronomy. Called the "hundred days plant" because of its short cycle (from June to September), buckwheat was for a long time considered the main food of the Bretons before being a subsistence plant during the numerous fruit crises of the last centuries, which allowed the people to eat their fill in winter.
Today, buckwheat flour is still used to make a typical Breton dish, called "galette de sarrasin" in Gallo country or Upper Brittany, but also "crêpe de blé noir" or "crêpes bretonne" in Breton country or Lower Brittany.
It is this Breton tradition and heritage that we want to share with you.

Our crêpes are made to order using artisanal flours from organic farming.
We make our own homemade organic spread. Our jam is organic
(strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, muroise, rhubarb) and our chocolate is grand cru origin at 55% or 70% cocoa.

Our galettes and crêpes are made to order inthe pure tradition of the crêpiers, ensuring a unique taste. Since 1976 Heb Ken Creperie is proud to perpetuate this tradition and know-how.

OUR TEA SALON
In 2016, for its 40th anniversary, Heb Ken's Creperie was completely renovated, and decided to open all day long to allow you to eat crepes and galettes at any time of the day. On this occasion, we have opened our menu to the pastry shop.
We now offer home-made pastries for the tea room, but also for lunch and dinner, such as the traditional Nantais cake, the seasonal fruit tart, the lemon meringue tart, or the grand cru chocolate cookie (a must try).
All our pastries are also available to take away.

We also offer a wide choice of hot beverages, including genuine homemade hot chocolate, as well as a large selection of teas, some of which are exceptional, organic grand crus. Our pastries are also available at the counter!
